Very blurry. Try Filter > Sharpen > Sharpen, then Edit > Fade Sharpen > Reduce until it's not over sharpened.

Too blurry to sharpen. Sharpening it will just make the already bad quality look even worse.

in the colored (filtered) sig especially, try making some parts a bit darker, ex. venom is now part of the giant blob bit if you put some darker vs. lighter spots you will differentiate between the shapes and you can also create depth.

e: this goes both ways around, dark vs. light contrast can be really interesting with stronger lights and darks, if the peak dark/light values are closely together it can quickly become bland looking.
