your mountains are very rounded, almost like Hershey's Kisses, seems very unnatural.
The blue used also seems a bit intense, but maybe if there were another softer blue to add in shadowing and detailing it would pull together that blue and white.

Not sure if you are using it or not but shattered's mountain tut is pretty solid.

-use harder brushes, let them blend for you
-it's just lacking lots of detail

true, i should have worked on a larger canvas but there's a lot more detail than you can see
how do hard brushes blend for me?
have you ever made a video tut? :)

try squinting and slowly opening your eyes until you can see better

good idea with the blending light to dark, there's a lot more noticeable contrast at a smaller scale

well, i can see the detail more clearly now, but i still think it doesn't look right to me still because of two things:

1) The deep deep blue you used for the base of the mountains still seems too overpowering, should be more of a grey/blue rather than a 220-255 blue
2) The sky suggests the light projected onto the mountain would be yellow/orange and slight tones of green, instead there is just white and blue lighting, makes the two parts stick out and look like they were copy/pasted from two entirely different pieces with no correlation.

As separate pieces, the mountains look pretty good and the sky looks pretty good, but together they contradict each other.
Tone down the blues, add some yellow/beige/green highlights and brown/blue shadowing and I think it will be 100% better.

i was thinkin large brushes would make it look flat and i wanted the snow / clouds to look kinda fluffy
i should probably end with slightly larger brushes so i can blend in some areas
