since i assume OP is male, i assume he has the sex-linked genetic red-green colour blind which cannot be fixed. If you have a non-genetic colour blind caused by head trauma or something, then it might be possible to fix it. usually you determine if a child is colour blind at a young age. schools use colour toys and such to determine such things. if you're just finding out now, i'd ask a doctor or ask your male relatives if they're red-green colourblind as well

If asking relatives, stick to your mother's side - color blindness cannot be passed down via paternal DNA.

As for the "skipping a generation" (something that is directly impossible for gene transfer), it only appears this way since it's most noticeable when it's passed down via Maternal Grandfather (Color Blind) -> Mother (Carrier) -> Son (Color Blind).

But as carte said, almost everyone who is in fact color blind, finds out at a young age. Chances are you're not.

No, pretty sure I am, my grandpa on my mom's side had it, apparently he bought a lime green truck and told my mom and her brother it was red, I didn't know he was until now, but I think that should make me color blind since every other generation, I failed the test for it when I got my liscense renewed too but I never knew when I was younger and neither did my parents
