Here is some genuine good and honest advice, supposing you want to get better (artistically) you'd be wise to follow this.
There are two types of people who make tags. First, the artistically-inclined who put a lot of thought and time into tagging and practice often. There are rules to follow and then it becomes much more than what number two is.
Two, people who make tags as a side hobby who never really commit to improving and are content with the skill they are at. Who make tags based on what looks "cool" without following the same rules as the artistically-inclined.
You have to decide which you are, if you are number one, start learning the rules. Do tutorials, yes its said all the time but for a reason. Do them, you'll see we are right when you improve and start seeing what makes a tag artistically "good".
If you are number two, keep doing what you are doing, you don't follow the rules that 90% of the people in this forum do (minus the request section) and so we are going to treat you as if you are trying to follow the rules.
100% of the rage and flame that happens in here is because number 1's and number 2's views conflict.
PS.
If you're number 1, tutorials, any, all of them. In abundance, post 4-5 tags at a time for CnC and let it be known that you are going tutorials and that you are a number 1 so we can help you along instead of trying to point out to you the above points.
Thanks for that. I've been actually looking at guides lately. Trying to improve the best I can.
