I really like this, an impressive first attempt.

The one thing that really stands out to me that could use some work is where the water recedes into the background near the horizon. It looks very sharp and clear so it looks almost disconnected from the landscape around it. Maybe try fading it out like you did with the land portion.

Good stuff man


I like the atmospheric perspective, you can feel the depth. Also like your clear shapes and value grouping.


Some things to think about next time is to get some more asymmetry in the composition, maybe crop just an inch off the right side and see if you like it better.

This is an exceptional first effort. Can we see some still life studies as well?

As the time old gdgc mantra goes, "an apple study a day keeps the hateful gdgc nerds away"

This !! I need extensive work on all the fundamentals/basics. I will start a progress thread when I start doing that, probably tomorrow first thing
