hold shift while resizing to retain

but yeah in terms of composition, I'm not sure what to look at:
sephiroth, the abstract piece to the right, or read the small text at the bottom left. My eye jumps all around the tag restlessly

The images haven't been stretched. They have been shrank actually. Not sure i agree with you on the composition though.
