I got a tablet about 4 years ago that was surprisingly decent quality but unfortunately I don't remember the name of it, which isn't important anyhow. I didn't give the tablet a try because I really didn't like the fact that I had to draw into the grey area on the tablet and watch the computer screen simultaneously. It's just way too unfamiliar to me and I didn't want to adjust my entire art approach by doing this.

Is there any tablets out there that are different in a sense that they allow you to directly see what you're sketching on the tablet itself? I'm looking to drop some cash on this if it's of decent quality, for example: no lag, no pixilation, etc.

I've heard of the Wacom Bamboo amongst a lot of artists on this site and I've heard nothing but good things about it but unfortunately it's too much like the one I had.
I would gladly put ~$650 dollars or so, maybe even more, towards a good quality tablet, as it saves the cost for materials and space.

Let me know, fellas, thanks!

Sooo you want a tablet with a screen?

Not going to happen unless you drop a few $k on it.

The Wacom Cintiq 13HD looks more than perfect for me. $999.00 retail is a huge price tag. Does anyone on the forums paint with one of these?

/e I could buy a perfectly working, presentable car for the price of the 22HD..

Learn to use a cheaper one then. It doesn't take long to get used to.

Get a cheaper wacom, trust me.... its not that difficult to just look at the screen and draw with the tablet on the desk... it takes practice yes.... save yourself 900$..... most people who buy tablets and want to draw and paint, end up quitting in the first month anyways...

I'll find myself painting for a few weeks, then stop for months. I mostly use mine for those bad tags I keep doing.
