You guys are harsh, I like it, a refreshing change from yes men.
Also I forgot to note this a preliminary design that I spent around 2 hours on.

if this is going to be a blog - why don't you make it a blog? why make a website and then use disqus which has spam and other problems?
also - i think this feels way too big; i'm on 1920x1080 and i can't see the name of the dish and all of its instructions on a single page. could you imagine looking at something like this on a phone when you're in your kitchen?
here's an example of a food blog site that i like:
http://www.budgetbytes.com/Because I want to use disqus
rather than dealing with shitty tools.
The content area is 960px which would fit on 99% of desktop's with at least 32 px padding either side, i presume you are talking about the height?
Do you have images scaled up or something?

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/7199038/Danss.pngI can't understand why anyone would want to look at the name of a disk and content at the same time?
Also as someone noted it will be responsive, so it will scale down nicely for mobile use.

There is a thing called responsive design, I'm sure Dan has thought out different screen resolutions.
Overall looks good, great use of negative space, I personally love minimalist designs so I might be a tad biased.
See above.
Also thanks, I have an internal debate about each element on the screen.

this was my first though as well, i had it on my normal person size screen and i couldn't see shit. Since its an imagine it wont autoscale content or anything but yeah definitely something I would dislike if I was on a webpage that looked exactly the same
e/ i also don't see a printer friendly button anywhere?
I have a smaller resolution & think it looks fine, not seeing the issue ? O_O

Cream is missing from the ingredients.
im fairly sure the butterscotch is missing in total, given the ratios.
