So I see that there is quite a number of artists wanting to dive into digital painting. I see a lot of them being mis-guided by also novice artists and not going in the true direction needed.

So my question is, what kind of tut would you feel is the most beneficial.

1. A video with text describing every step. ( sped up video or actual length painting ) ?
2. A video with commentary over the video ( sped up video or actual length painting ) ?
3. A image with pictures of every step with a wall of text

Lmk your opinions. This will more then likely just be a simple still life, as non of you should really be diving to far into landscapes/portraits etc QUITE yet :)

in my opinion actual length with commentary is always best.

Actual length with commentary as well. I do much better with video tutorials compared to image tutorials because you can actually see how they do it.. not just what they do

i'm liking this idea
a few things though, we've been down this road before and last time you were creating these tutorials, the hype died down
so imo just know if those who need it will benefit from it.

But the full length commentary video sounds n1
explain a key concept, and then speed up (like daarken's videos)
Feng zhu videos are more informational with their commentaries, but not the actual paintings part
So try to merge those two together

oh and (important)
pls explain the differences of painting from real life and a photo T_T
many don't know the differences

one you can touch and the other you can only touch what its on
duh naboob
r u stupid
also tanner it sounds like a great idea, i would say maybe i'll brush off tablet and try, but i've said that every time someone made a painting tutorial, but there seem to be quite a few people who are starting to get into this scene.
my vote goes for the full length + voice commentary
