I've decided to start up Photoshoping again, but this time, I will start from a whole new angle! I've been thinking on what I like about pictures, and I came up with the conclusion on simplicity is the way.
So in this topic the stuff I will post wont be with a bunch of effects and stuff, but keeping it simple and nice.

The first stuff I want to learn, is the way to actually making the focus the main part of the picture, and not the background.
The contrast in the picture will also be important, so I will try to use the gradient tool etc. a lot more than I'm used to do.

I really hope this will help me learn more about going into details, instead of destroying a pictures because I'm in hurry.


This is my first signature for half a year, so it's not the perfect combination of minor effects and keeping the main part in focus.




At the moment I'm working on this picture, which is just a little practicing in making a focus out of a random picture (From Shutter Island )

instagram is a crappy program that does the same thing
please dont be a filter abuser
and try to avoid using blur to create depth
use light/dark sharpen
burn/dodge

Thats what I want to learn, not under-/over abusing filters, I want the perfect combination!

I like the blur/sharpen tool, because of the depth you can make. As you see in my second picture, the left man is no more a "focus-stealer", which I can't really see the burn/dodge tool should could do?

The first picture is actually a little to much filtered, which I know can see after what you've said. It's easy to see that I've over abused the blur tool.. A sad start, but hopefully I wont make the same mistake again.

Finally finished my Shutter Island picture, and I think it went out pretty well.



If I felt doing it into a sig I could, but might pic up a new and better picture for that course.

The last few layers in that picture, is actually the original picture where the opacity is lowered, just to keep the colours, and still have the focus
