I feel like whoever is moderating this section has lost site of a moderator's purpose.

While the goal of a moderator is to ensure that the rules of a site or subsection of a site are followed, this is ultimately carried out under the presumption that the enforcement of these rules will make the site/ subsection a better place for its users.

I'm not suggesting that the community should have absolute control over the rules or content of a site. Obviously there are limits that a site can set above and beyond the enjoyment of its user base, but for the most part, forums are kept clean so that people can actually use them.

What is the point of moderating the living hell out of a subforum to the point where it can no longer even serve it's original function?
As of now, most of the open threads don't even belong in this section (ex. this thread), a clear indication that whoever is moderating this section doesn't even know what it's intended for.
