I've been practicing a new style of GFX called "pop out" and this is my first attempt:

(Don't mind the name, my friend bought it off me and his username is Jersey Shore)

Think I should experiment more with this?

Btw thanks to beowulf for giving me the topic to look at for this style.

and yes charizard is suppose to be black cause he's "shiny charizard"

Another good opinion.

Would be better if you give tips other than 1 reply answers too. O_o I'll only improve.

Graphically, pop-outs are rarely a good choice - especially if you're new to graphic designing. Very few are able to pull it off with a high quality. I realize that most of the people on the forums like them and that there's a market for them, but if you honestly care about improving then it would be best to avoid them.
My advice? Check out some more tutorials and stick with rectangles. You can achieve much better work and learn things which will be actually applicable to future work.
If you haven't already checked them out, there's a lot of tutorials here: http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=48069527

Basically monotone, not a fan of the font or the background. Looks like the focal was pasted on and then the background edges were cut. :(

I'm not really new to graphic design, I've been doing it for about 1-2years. I just have never done pop-outs before because I did not think they were very artistic.

I usually make sigs like:

But thanks for your input. I will be checking out more tutorials since I've only looked at 1.

Also, the text was horrible I know but what I did for background is what the guy did in the tutorial, smudge the layer with a brush making a style, adding a random abstract or background and layer masking it.

Followed his tutorial, with his second post.
