I'm working on my master's thesis which happens to be a short motion picture made mainly in 3D. Gotta pick up the pace cause deadline is coming in a bit over a month, thought I'd share some progress so far.
All u see is rigged and ready to be animated (Cinema 4D). You can see a teaser trailer here: http://michalfigas.art.pl/blackberg
You're all very welcome to c'n'c ofc.

Some concept sketches I made on iPad:

I think you need a Higher resolution bump map for the circuitry.
You can see some jaggies in the reflections.
Or it could be the AA algorithm you are using? would you mind sharing your render settings for that?

If you want you could always just render at 2 or 4x the final size without AA then reduce the size in whichever post program you use

was fast&dirty render m8, all set on low (AA 1x1 i think). as for stills: it's gonna be moving so u won't notice as much as u can with a still picture

pretty cool stuff, but it seems lazy to just make everything glossy
what do you use for rigging?

oh I look forward to seeing the real thing :)

as far as the glossiness
you can never have enough glossy
so more glossy.

e/ i thinkt he circuitry would looks better with a little color. can't really tell that its there unless you look hard.
so brighten it up or remove it I say

skin+joints+contraints and a little bit of XPresso
I know but I'm very limited with time y'know, so I had to make some compromise.

looks cool man, im diggin the glossy, clearly you were going for it

but i agree with the circutry, its showing up almost completely black and if you did any modeling in those joints, you might as well show it

what are you gettin a masters in anyways? didnt see any animation in the trailer so i am thinking vfx?
