dodging/burning are great tools for creating depth in the background, but the best way to remedy it would be to include elements in the middleground and foreground, as well as the background.
if you have elements on all three fields, the depth sort of solves itself, especially if those elements move from one field to another - if you understand?
e: and yeah, don't bother watermarking your shit.
