There is 5000% tons of collusion on this site. Has been that way since I joined in 2005.
You definitely got buttfucked by those guys, especially with a known member of the community telling you to take his word @ 7k being the top.
Never ever EVER sell something when someone else who isnt the buyer is telling you another buyers price is the top. They were sitting on discord together 10/10.
There are lots of good folks here on JSP, but there are also MANY asshats who have the money to pay fair prices but just want to goblin the little guys(instead of paying him fairly) out of the one or two good drops they gets over the life of their account.
LOL. GFG rares get colluded over on this site more than anything else besides 3/20/20 prices.
Especially when the seller isn't one of the 10 year friends.
He got greedy for taking what he was told is a fair price? Follow the comment thread, right after some guy said 7k was best... he closed it.
The fucking LLD community got greedy as THEY always do, wanting to get the rare in their community and willing to fleece a guy to do so.
this is silly, the community doesnt want it in their community, that's nonsense.
it's simply not worth much more than 7k due to the MDR bug making it only slightly better than a robo.
even if 90% of the community somehow colluded to fleece this guy there would still be whales out there willing to keep bidding.
and LLD on d2r has brought in many new players outside of the 10 year running LLD guilds that are happy to bid up items.
how do i know? well...... i ran an LLD pricecheck thread for a few months once d2r released, some randoms in the LLD discord asked me to price fix. straight up said "tell people X item is worth ____, and Y item is worth ______". before i could even respond NO it had like 10 replies from other users saying "if he does that i'm going to PM each user and buy for more". also multiple PCs i gave started flame wars of people saying "you pc'd it at 200, im gonna PM him" then someone else saying "im going to pm him to start a thread because i'll offer more". and i constantly told sellers to make threads for that very reason.
