You don't lose a lot of life. If he needed -30 req for his build he would have used 30/60/9dex/-req jewels. He would have lost 18 str using these jewels. Guess what? This armor has 19 str. The suffix is better than -30req and also more flexible since you should never need more then -30 req.
222str req sa with -str req:
-15% = 188req
-30% = 155req
-45% = 122req
-60% = 88req
light ellite items need ~100 str req
so you can have -30%req basic suffix + 1 jwl => -45%.
but str and dex and -req , all is suffixes.
dex > str, cus block (only if str not need)
-req > str, cus dont stack together, and affix -req giving more reduce, then few dmg points by str stat
222 -15req -> 188 (eq str: 34)
well armor vz "20 str suffix" potencial can have: 24fhr / 5%frost nova when struck / 5 life rep / -30%req
( 9 dex suffix at rare armors too low, better see dex on 2jwl )
i prefere see:
armor, 24 fhr or fnova ( total suffixes : eth/rep + life + 24fhr )
jwls, 9dex & -15req ( total : 30/60/9dex/-15req jwls)
