Whatever you all may think of as far as the legitimacy of some of these items I must say this an EXCELLENT OVERALL lvl30 tele bvc dueler. 9.5/10 imo. I've seen him in game up against some of the best claimed duelers on East and stomped.. There were even a few challenging matches i got to witness..
but after reading through this thread, and face-palming a few times, I figured I drop in with my OPINION on the duping matter, since some of you are true to stick to your guns..
This whole deal with dupes/legits is a hot topic.. and is up for debate, BUT I (my opinion) along with plenty others honestly believe that if the item was spawn able (legit stats for that patch [not hacked], that a monster spawned at one point) and sticks on the realm, then it's up for grabs, even if it was "duped" later on.
I've duped items completely accidentally due to ridiculous lag while playing normally or trading, without third party software.. (not really trying to dupe) Sadly after a while i saw it as a "natural exploit" in the game that EVERYONE had access too (wasnt very hard to do...).. So to me, and to a lot of people, it turned into a feature rather than an exploit, especially after all those years of not patching it.. Yes some people were using other techniques and third party software to perfect this lag dupe.. and yea, i know your thinking, those items usually disappeared fairly quickly, but there were exploits in game and programs (both now most likely patched) to perm (not just temp perming.. I am talking about truly making it PERM). I am certain this was possible, whether you want to take my word or not that's up to you...
However, whether you are considering BM play or not in your duels, due to the dupe factor, that is all based on opinion and dueling rules within your community.. There are too many people on this forum with high egos and extreme lob sided opinions on the "legitimacy" of these "duped" items and not the influence of these items towards the character builds and dueling ability.. Personally, I think, if an item has irregular stats then it should not be considered as legit (as it destroys the balance of your characters performance over others).. but as far as duping.. thats a whole other ball game..
Oh, and there is always room for improvement so if you are comparing these to 100000% PERFECT items that are sooooooo rare to spawn and that there is only one, that you yourself have never even touched or can begin to even acquire, but only talk about, then you also have a lob sided view of valuing such items.. So If you have a link or source to such a perfect item then please provide that, I'm pretty damn sure SackShadow and others will appreciate it...
Again this is just my opinion on the matter... I am NOT saying I am absolutely right and that I'm right on the subject, in fact I was skeptical about duped items at one point, but I am sure a good amount of people here will agree with my thought process.. I simply felt I had to say something..
So recapping, I think if the item can spawn from a monster within the realm and retain itself, even through non-third party means of duplication, then it should be considered legit and worthy of usage.. again that's just my opinion after 12 years of playing and understanding how D2 was programmed.
9.5/10 imo for this gfg OVERALL Tele-BvC character and only because there is room for improvement....
As far as his items being "duped" and potentially wiped from the server.. I've never seen SackShadow temp perming any of his chars so if anything it will be just a matter of time..
