It’s some dumb rules bro don’t bother

Honestly the fact that they need these rules for a blizz sorc to even become viable is insane to me

Doom would give much more pierce than an orb like this, but let me guess: doom is banned

It’s just like the dumb melee vs melee rules banning grief otherwise their garbage items have no use

Ye but these ppl also argue they would use a clean 6 cold mastery orb without blizzard over anything else

They literally only care about pierce cos there’s a max amount of stacked resist they can use in “gm duels”

Doom would deal much more damage cos they would have like 30 total cold resist rather than 60

But I assume it’s banned, those resist rules make no sense anyway

Max 450% Cold resistances
Max 420% Cold resistances with 1x Raven
Max 325% Cold resistances with 2x Ravens

Final dmg after pvp 0.17 penalty and res/sorb:

Vs 450 res
DF = 1064 dmg
Orb = 1478 dmg

Vs 420 res 20 sorb
DF = 1117 dmg
Orb = 1330 dmg

Vs 325 res 40 sorb
DF = 878 dmg
Orb = 911 dmg

Note that to reach such high blizz dmg and cold pen, such a build kinda struggles with res, so DF's 40 light/fire res can be handy when needed.
But we're only looking at dmg in this comparison.

Conclusion:
GG for GM rules, as shown above
Trash for pub (both most likely reduce opponents to -100)
Trash for BM (both most likely still result in max res)
and Doom is insanely good against melee, if allowed

If I cared about GM duels,
I'd give 9.5/10 for the 60 life orb posted on page 1 (ES is wasted, but 60 life is perf)
and 8.5/10 for the 17 life orb posted on page 4 (Tele is saving 2 skills, but 17 life is low)

Odds of rolling 60life/20fcr/6blizz/6CM/2os: 1/349,249,872,796
(and that's excluding the 1ES which would further lower these odds)

To find it, assuming a generous pace of 1 magic orb dropped each 2 mins, it would require 1 human being to have played this game 1.33 million years nonstop.

It would be best to convey your point with facts like a side by side via a screenshot to compare damage, cold mastery doesn't add anything because at end game cold sorc build you are already hundreds negative cold res and it's capped in pvp & pvm correct? So the real outcome is +3 blizzard skill vs +25% cold damage (assuming fathom is perfect with a 5/5) I am curious how much damage more Blizzard does at +3 more skills vs a 25% enhanced damage blizzard 3x levels below that.
