the irony is that the term "cruel" wasn't a new thing created by 1.14 spawns, it goes back to 1.09 patch where cruel weps were often used with 3x jewels to get well over the base 300 ed. afterwhich fools + cruels weapons joined the meta, and were called "fools" to set them apart.
greater than 300 ed rare weps are "cruels", up to 300 ed w/ fools mod are "fools". and always have been since 1.10.
I'm well aware. I've stated basically the same exact info.
I used to use the 2 person rollback method to re-roll CCB's to get CCBOA/CCBOS/CCBOE/CCBOQ's and whatever in between with my friends from school after the rollback became public on blizzhackers early in 1.09.
This doesn't change the fact that the mislabeling of cruel + masters as simply "cruels" and fools + cruel items being labeled as just "fools" is something that started happening probably around 1.12 or so after a good amount of those combinations of rare items had been found.
Before 1.10 the "Cruel" modifier could only spawn on magic items. So many people didn't even know that rares could spawn with it plus an additional ED mod until well past the 1.10 early days and even into 1.12 or so.
Many people were still not realizing how important AR had become because everyone was still under the assumption that defense was an afterthought due to the 'eth' bug or any -%def bug that persisted until 1.10 - which made defense and AR an afterthought, and is why everyone used a 'Lo' + 'Eth' rune in their 2 socket cruel weapons or 'Eth' + 2x Lo or 40/15's in 1.09 melee.
None of this changes the fact that these people are retarded, stupid, and incorrect in their labeling of these rare items.
Period, honestly. End of discussion. There is nothing more that need be said.
