its a toss up between yours and those others that were posted. his has skills which dont do much like you said, d/a/e/cs/penetrate

each point in Str will increase your damage by 0.8% when using Amazon-specific javelin; in all other javelins, it will be 0.75%

You have way more dex than str if you build your char correctly!

After this you have to take into factor that a high max dmg benefits greatly from critical strike / DS. When you look at basic statistics you notice that the median is very sensitive to extremes.

If you were to shoot 1000 lightning furies on a barb and record the damage then make an average you'd see a net advantage for Stygians. HOWEVER, in cases where you have insane amounts of %edmg, base avg damage becomes more important than extra %edmg from stats or gear and will scale better.
But then you ask, what is the tipping point where %edmg becomes less efficient than base damage. The truth is that most builds will never reach this amount which is a little over ~1200%edmg.

If you look at it this way, winged harpoons are also really underrated zon javs. But that's another story :)

Anyway, I'm probably going to make a more thorough explanation and guide about this when I get more time. I've accumulated a staggering amount of data on zons in general.

Cs/ds doesn't make you roll a higher dmg hit does it? It just takes whatever dmg roll you got and then double it.
Makes me wonder why ppl would choose diamond over shadow bow if what you're saying is true.

I wasn't aware that mat and styg receive different dmg bonuses from dex and str so thanks for that.
