doesnt even beat a plain eth cubed Ancient which nets more defense and 4 sockets vs 2. The repair doesnt make any difference on a dueler. These are a dime a dozen on ladder, so you have to consider that if your making a best on all realm claim. That red color is awesome for looks, that I have to give it.

23%ed <50%ed from a cubed eth
31 life vs 2 extra sockets, I'll take the cubed 40's Ancient with 500+ defense.

you are right, for pubbing.
but on serious lvl 18 chars / serious duels (tvt's, tourney etcetc) non-repair eth items are considered bm.
