can reach 1198 def with 40ed etc. not that bad rly

over 7k def is useless unless person has literally no ar.

and the advantage you get from not using an ornate at all and instead having only a grim shield/helm combo is better for actually dueling imho

but a real use for an ornate would be a max def barb/pally for a trophy s/s. which his falls drastically short on def for.

i guess if you used up sb and wanted to get teh def in armor it would be an option, but its no trophy
