Not enough mana or damage to justify the loss of all the defensive capabilities of hoto and the extra 20fcr, allowing you 1x more soj and the ability to use a rare amulet with 2/10 or a crafted amulet with 2/10 and 1 extra affix.

Still cute tho if you don’t want to go cookie cutter 105 fber

what build are you assuming for hoto? pretty sure the standard 50/50 hoto build is

20fcr circ
3fire/100l ammy
fcr belt 10/24/stats
blood or caster boots

hits 3k/3k 86fhr 40rep 19k dmg 85es 75@ res (assuming no oak which is only useful vs foh).

I hit the same stats with this orb - 1k more damage & style at the expense of oak

Dungo or string or Trang or tgod (think tgod got banned for GM on d2r due to fhr changes tho)
Boots flexibility such as trek aldur crafted caster/blood the unique % mana boots etc


Highest combo of damage rep survivability mana life etc etc.

Not a fan of belt choice. Pretty sure 10/24fhr/str/rep or 10/24/str/life beats it and bridges your fhr gap

Plus on Crafted belt, you don’t need the Str. If you get 30str from helm or amulet at 99, you only need 2 more Str. Much better to hard point the 2 Str and free up that affix slot for other gear. And that doesn’t even consider if you use any jewels in your 2.20/2 that have Str on them.

Getting Str from belt is highly irrelevant. Making there not very valuable affix combo for a crafted belt, especially since you can’t Str bug anymore.


You can even go arach + shako route for more mana and life with dr as well. Also gives you +2 more to BO, which is 6% more life /mana


You can for sure make a rare orb work. And this is a good one. But would be tough to convince me to pay for this and then pay more for belt and rinfs and amulet to achieve basically the same stats, if not slightly worse.

Str, life, and mana are interchangeable to me on a 50/50 build. So if you get all your str from circ or ammy, you can go for 10fcr/24fhr/50+life/9rep belt which works very well in this build.

Agree that hoto build would be much cheaper with very similar stats. Personally, I like unique builds so orb build was an easy choice.

And for the 50/50 or close to it build, hoto helps so much with resist, which you will want help with.

And always having oak helps :). Especially on 50/50
