Perhaps a theoretical example of something which has no life but is not a 0/10 can be my justification? I'll stick to lld items as its what I am used to most.

+2 pnb(or similar), 20fcr, 30frw, 10rep, 90mana, 2sox

I can't see how this is a 0/10 item. Even if you dropped the 10rep and went with 5 mods its better than most lld circs or you could go for 9str, 20energy or some other useful 6th mod.
