At the same time, the level of knowledge about item finding, creating, and what to even look for was not there from the beginning in legacy, not even close. Standing on the shoulders of giants, d2r mfers and botters hit the ground running and in extremely large numbers. I believe a fair comparison can be made between the two games in terms of what should be considered trophies.

Exactly the same as legacy mfers have always been. It's the botters finding the good stuff, not those rando mfers. Same for both games. Until cloud botting started, legacy had a lack of good items even like a decade in. D2R started with cloud botting. D2R trophies should be held to the same standards as legacy :)
