All good thanks for the rates I'm here to leave a piece of my work that took 7-9 months to build the "BEST" Smiter in existence as of today in D2r. I don't plan on doing this for another 10 years then posting it on trophy in 2032 with what you call "the best that can be items". That original "skull necklace" and perfect CB gloves with 30lr was owned by me in D2 and life happened and I come back to see it duped. PVP is dead so here is some HD for ya'll legacy peeps.

I do appreciate all rates and hates, but the lack of common sense is clear esp with this 30% after talking to him. A smiter is my favorite class, but has limited wearability in terms of rare and crafted items compared to a zealer, bvb, or even a sin. No 2os eth rep helms or weapons. The best rare crafted items for a smiter or v/t is based on 3 things: ring ammy and gloves. These are the best of its kind whether you disagree or not, facts are facts. Rest are generic runewords or uniques. I have yet to see even in legacy a FULLY equipped smiter with all 3 of these perfect mods after 20+ years. This is currently my 9 months of work and I'm not waiting 10+ years to get lucky to craft the following below items to satisfy the few clowns that bash every trophy thread. Cheers.

A VT doesn’t need 209 Str:
25 base
40 anni torch
74 enigma
70 Str from the above gear


Nor should a smiter be using gore riders as you put in your max roll link you sent me (which any time someone uses max roll, you know they don’t know what they are doing). The only boots a VT should use is goblin toe or waterwalk


Your build has tremendous Str overflow and only reach the 27 FCR frame. This works in legacy due to the ability of grief of beast zerker with blood gloves and goblin toe, allowing you to scale damage higher than a 48 FCR smiter due to much more CB.

But damage in d2r is significantly higher than legacy due to the ability to use Phoenix Paladin shield because of the changes to how the CTc firestorm works. Because of the much higher damage, the CB holds less value than legacy and reaching rhe 48 FCR frame holds more value in d2r than legacy

The Str overflow is costing you significant life by swapping an affix from Str to Life. Not to mention a BiS d2r VT should be using a 30ED/-15req/9str/9dex jewel + Ber (or can swap Str for 8 life or 4 life rep or 30 lite res) in your coa to further lessen the load of the amount of Str needed to use COA, thus allowing you to further lump up your life

While this allows you to only reach 46 DR (23 dr from coa + 15 dr dungo + 8 dr enigma), you gain much more life from needing even less affix slots giving Str. Not to mention due to Phoenix not having 30/20 block, additional Dex is valued. This allows you to have a better Life vs opponent smite damage ratio, allow you to take more smite hits, even though you hve slightly less DR.

It’s pretty pathetic how you try to say you are some VT expert and that I only know sins, when I clearly know more about VT then you.
