stay alive is not a problem on a char that if properly built, clean all mobs in screen and out screen with 1 hit,
i agree you want to be on the safe side on hc, but this is not the way. Not considering that you're not amped most time, you really want to stack you dr/mdr instead (who cares about 88%dr when a condamn aura soul oneshot you anyway).
just for your info, the most underrated danger in hc is cold damage.

This, i use to run 58 also because of ampd nihl snakes, or whatever crazy packs d2 throws at you.
