I'm very new to this game but i'll try to answer the questions from what I have looked up myself.

1) Rogue is probably the best sub for scout and rogue/scout is also very strong. Warrior and Mage also have good abilities (I was originally going to make a scout/mage).

2) Scout is THE best sub for rogue. Warrior also works for rogue pretty well.

3) I play on Grimdal and so does one other person that I have talked to here but I don't know that the JSP community plays this game a lot.

5) I don't know much about the diamond market but I see them being sold for 20k-30k every day.

rogue scout works good for starters because of leather gear is shared. So is the dex stat. it will make things cheaper for you.

grimdal because theres more of us here.

you don't need diamonds to craft, you need gold. getting gold can be done in a number of ways. you can also get diamonds by doing free surveys via runesofmagic website.

You should worry about spending too much. Scout rogue is your best dps class(having ranged attack helps a lot). mage/priest also works for dps but not so good for pvp.

By the time you make your highend gear, you will be finding it as well. So you can sell the stats you dont need and buying the ones you need. Typically 6 yellow stated item would cost 6m-12m. (if you dont know what i mean by 6 yellow stats, look at my post on the gear im selling.

Your weapon is more determined on its TIER rather than its stat. Each tier adds 10% damage. So tier 10 is 100% moer damage. And damage is everything for a weapon. A good weapon will cost 5m-20m.

best dps scout is scout/warden. great for self absorbed players that only care about the role of being top damage. they get the job done and they do it best. scout/knight does awesome damage with great armor being able to tank endgame when everyone is overgeared and doesnt need a full tank. scout/rogue was up there but lost alot when they changed a cooldown. theyre still good, but they lost some advantages of being /rogue.

best rogue combination is rogue/knight. rogue/scout used to be up there but its the same issue as s/r with a cooldown, made it weaker, and less fun to play. besides that, /knight's enhanced armor is (dare i say it?) needed to actually survive in the higher up stuff because you have to get in close. every other rogue combo doesnt compare.

hmm, how many diamonds for high end gear... well i'll go by the first real end-ish game raid, hall of survivors. its really easy at level 60 (being a 55 instance), but its the first instance that really starts it all. you can go in with 6k life and have your hand held with good players and get gear to get to the better stuff. hitting level 55, and getting around 6k life wouldnt cost much, just a little time and effort, probably very little diamonds or none at all.
after you start running HoS, you will get the sets there and spend... lemme count an estimate... at LEAST 1000 diamonds, and thats with half-priced sales. thats for half-statting most of your gear and barely upgrading them. now based on the gold to diamond ratio it was at when i quit playing (a month or so ago) it was around 8k per diamond. thats 8 million gold. do the math based on whatever it is on whatever server youre on.
8 million gold isnt too much, but yeah its a lot of time to save that up. doing quests from level 1-45ish will probably give you enough gold to buy a mount, which isnt required, but everyone gets them because its really bad if you dont have one (level 30ish up zones are good to have mounts, your choice when to buy one). that 8 million doesnt include said mount, stats from other players mentioned above (i barely bought any, just ran instances for them), tiering your weapon as mentioned above (will need at least tier 6 at 55 for instances, and thats being bad) which costs 9 million gold for tier stones give or take unless you make them yourself which costs diamonds instead, and after that you will spend alottttt more actually completing that gear to be useful, and then you will just run the next instance and find better gear which you will have to completely restat.

/didnt mention buying statted gear from players, other random item shop items like angel sigh's.

anyone can argue at my post if they want, but the item shop in Rom is rediculous. ive played a scout/rogue up to 60/59 (started as rogue/scout up to 55) on Reni, completely free-to-play (never ever bought diamonds with $$) played up to the last instance before i quit (rhaksha temple), and honestly everyone hates the item shop when they get to endgame. dont even get me started on the cost to be a successful knight.

/wow that is a big post, looks like a tl;dr rage qq post, but its mostly true. everyone has their opinion on class combos so take what you want out of that part. i played pve, but i dont think i mentioned anything that was different for pvp.

Jalant is mostly right. A lot of players quit simply because of how tedious or expensive or frustrating the gear at end-game is. It's possible to get by without spending money, but the time and effort required is stupid, unless you're being spoonfed stuff. And every time new gear comes out, all your previous effort becomes that much less valuable, so you have to repeat the process once again. PvP servers are especially bad. On PvP servers, you have to keep a PvE set as well as a PvP set because you can drop items when killed. I played a good while ago, but I doubt the situation will ever change.
