At the moment there are seige wars going on (very fun pvp for short but I'll tell you the long) Each guild has the capability to obtain a castle at such and such level I believe (the castle map is where the seige war takes place, basically it takes two castles places them front to front with a center area. Amidst the land are tower in which you can harvest crystals to develope much needed seige equipment. Of course that's not all there is also the option to just plain out fight if you feel your strong enough, the objective is in each castle there's an honor crystal, take that out and you win the game. Side objectives include taking over possession of the opposing teams tower's busting through the gates etc. (Although it's currently glitchy in how some skills work within this pvp arena situation being able to charge style attack through gates for one without even having to kill it.)
The problem with this game, is to get really nice equipment you need diamonds via the cash shop and yeah occasionally they have special deals for them, and I understand having to make a profit to run their servers, pay the programmers, advertising etc. But it's kind of absurd in that sense that you really won't get very well equipped until late in the game. An example I've seen a 52mage have roughly 6k hp while a 55 has over 30khp - now i also understand the fact of course with having to do instances obtaining good equipment you can use to modify stats upon a certain piece of armor, but it's so hard sometimes to get to the point in which you can run the instances without constantly dying yourself.
Rom General breakdown
Gameplay- quite enjoyable
Quest depth - lacking in the sense that most things you'll begin to notice are repeative version of an old quest. But I must admit the daily quest system is damn good.
PVP - Truthfully don't play a pvp server unless you know someone who can hook you up, most pvp servers at the moment are absurdly clustered with mages I would assume which in terms of dps are just devastating. Seige wars is a nice expirence as long as the teams match up somewhat evenly.
Control of customization - VAST one word is all that's needed to explain this part, it can be confusing at points but once you get the hang of it it's quite fun.
Leveling - There are dead spots, This game runs a secondary and primary class system (you can level both) but I find when you level both of your classes evenly you seem to run out of quests, and then your stuck grinding (which no one likes) At later levels in the game 52-53+ the monsters begin having absurd amounts of hit points which makes playing in my personnal opinion most anything very difficult. My mage up until lvl52 was one shotting everything with a single spell, once you delve into the lvl52+ area you get a rude awakening.
Community - Most of the people I know (Reni server) are quite friendly, and willing to help, even when you can't rely on your guild.
overall sum of things. - The game is generally expanding, and if you don't care about having awesome gear, it's literally free to play (I do suggest atleast buying enough diamonds to get a mount though.)
