Making a rogue on the new server.

Rogues are good?

Rogues are great in PvP, but I think the new server is PvE?

In PvE, something like R/S has arguably the best single target DPS I think, but end game bosses have tons of AoE so it can be tough staying alive. Still good though I'd say, but I've never tried it so can't say for sure.

Rogues are amazing in the early stages... I noticed it slowing down around level 25, though. I play a Mage/Priest now, and since the gear is fully interchangeable it's a really smooth character to level up.

A bit part is to think about what you're gonna do in endgame. If you're on a PVE server, you'll just be doing instances and dungeons. Rogues are alright for those, but most people will choose a mage over a rogue for AoE attacks. A rogue's main attraction is the treasure hunter skill, which increases drops... in other words, you'll have a tough time finding groups.

For PVP, rogues are great - they're mage killers, and depending on your secondary, can take out most other classes as well. The big problem you'd have is with scouts, but that can't be avoided.

R/K is probably the best PvE class for a starting rogue.

Next probably R/P, or R/S.

R/S has very high potential however, partly because you do get an extra item bonus (bow slot).
