Yes. Installing and playing is 100% free. You can buy items from the cash shop if you want, but you don't have to, or need to to be good at the game.

yup runes of magic is totally free to play - subscription is free but there is an in-game cash shop but you don't have to spend your money - actually you can get every items in the game that you can get in the cash shops - well prob not the mounts =/ which i spent 10 dollars for a pernament horse - i guess it's worth it considering how much WoW is for subscription fees

yup it's free. as far as real $ is concerned. but it you're looking to be competative or are hard core gamer, be prepared to spend Time and Energy instead of Cash.

Once you learn the ropes, you can use in game gold to purchase Diamonds and have access to all the same ammenities as a bonafied CS user.
