Alright, so I've been getting a lot of PM'S about RoM, and more often than not, they are the same group of questions. I love helping you guys out, but I don't have time to re-answer these questions 5 times a day! Here are some of the most frequently asked questions, to help you understand the game better!
If your question isn't answered here, ask IN THIS THREAD, and I will reply so that everyone else can read the answer too! Enjoy!

Man this thing takes a long time to download, how long did it take you?

Three days, with broadband internet connection. I left it on overnight, too. This was back in Open-beta, they've sped up the download a bit then, but it's still pretty lengthy. Don't fret if it takes a while, just leave it on overnight and it'll probably be done in the morning ;)

Here are my system stats. Can I run RoM?

Most computers made within the last 4 years can run RoM, granted not in the best quality. To run without lagging, you're going to want at least 2GB of RAM. You can cut it with less for sure, but you may notice it's a little choppy. I think only 4GB HDD space is needed to install and run the game. Pretty much ANY graphics card can run this, but like I said, you probably won't experience the best quality if it's an old or cheaper card.

My graphics look all messed up, but I have a nice rig. What's going on?

Press the ESC key to open up the window. Then click the Visual Settings tab, and adjust everything accordingly. Make sure you hit Apply, then OK.

I can't hear anything/my sound seems too low?

Press the ESC key to open up the window. Then click the Audio Settings tab, and adjust everything accordingly. Make sure you hit Apply, then OK.

I messed up my character, is there anyway I can respec his skills?

Yes, with a skill reset stone from the cash shop. There are " Basic " and " Advanced " ones. Basic will respec everything under lvl 15, and advanced will do it at any level. Keep in mind, you will get a few of these for FREE during your quests from various gift bags. Also, they often give them out to every player after a patch that alters a skill, so don't rush to buy one if you make a small mistake. If you mess it up early on, like level 10 or below, just remake your character, it's easy to get to that lvl again. If you want to keep your items and gold, you can transfer them to me before deleting, or just transfer them to another character on your account via Mail.

I made a character, but now I don't like the way he/she looks. Can I change his/her appearance?

Yes you can, but again this costs diamonds to do, so make sure you get everything right when creating your character!

I'm having trouble finding parties to quest with. What can I do?

Well first, make sure you're using the Zone Chat to ask for party members, as the regular chat will only be visible to people very near you! There could be someone on the other side of the map who needs it too! Type /zone into the chat interface to talk to the zone. It should appear as a lime green text. Once you've made a party, you can type /party to switch to the party chat, so only your party will see what you write!

Someone wants to duel me. Should I?

First, check his level, and compare it to yours. A fair duel is within 1-5 levels of each other. Then check his equipment, if it's far better than yours, you should probably avoid the fight :P

I got invited to a guild. Should I join it?

If you'd like to, go for it! There are some nice ones out there, who can help you. Personally, I don't accept invites, I wait until I quest with or talk to someone in a guild and then ask to join, this way I'm familiar with at least one member prior to joining. I've joined a few guilds on there just because they invited me, and some of them turned out to be pretty rude guys.

This guild sucks. How can I leave it?

Press " G " on your keyboard to open up the guild member list. Find your name on the list, right click it, and select " Leave Guild "

Can you help me with quests?

You betcha. Any quest until the higher 30's I can probably do for you, even some of the instances I could probably run for you on my own.

Can you give me some gold to start out with?

Sure can. You don't need gold as much until you're lvl 25+ though, when you need to buy gear constantly and daily quest items and all that jazz. If you spot something in the Auction House that would be nice for your character, but you can't afford it just yet, PM me and I will buy it for you. ( Gotta be reasonable here, nothing super expensive or in Diamonds :P )

I don't know what to do, can you tell me how to finish this quest?

Probably, though it's been a while since I've done the low lvl quests. What you CAN do is look up the quest on RunesDB.com and look at some of the information on it. The site also lists all the items in the game, so you can look at those as well.

Say Makemetalmusic, I have your character added, but I never see you on to help me, what's the deal?

First, make sure I have YOU added, so you can see where I'm at and that stuff, just PM me your name and I'll add you. Also make sure you're on my server, US Artemis PvE. Secondly I've been pretty busy lately, lots of crap going on, so I'm not going to be very active for the next week or so. Anytime I'm on JSP though, you can probably get me to help you ;)

I don't know how to get into a party/create a party/create a raid! How do I do this?

To create a party, right click your icon in the top left of the screen and select create party. Once you've done that, you can convert to a raid by pressing the " O " key. It will bring up a window, go to the tab that says Raid Party, and convert it!

Cool, I've made one, but now I want to disband it. How do I do this?

Right click your icon again and select " Leave Party "

What exactly is your in game name, anyways?

Just ask me via PM, I can't post it here!

I can't gather this ore/wood/herb. What's the matter?

Make sure your gathering skill for that particular item is high enough! You can see your gathering levels by pressing " Y " on your keyboard.

Ok, I've got the materials, but I can't make anything? Help!

You need recipes first, and you need to have the associated level of that job high enough to use them! For example, you can have lvl 21 materials, and want to make a lvl 21 item from a recipe, but you need to have your crafting ability for that specific item high enough to be able to use the recipe!

I've got all that and I still can't make it. Are you lying to me you sick man?

No :D You have to be near the associated tools to do it! Alchemy set, cooking pot, blacksmithing tools, etc etc. You can find these in most major towns. Just stand next to them, and you'll be able to make them!

Crap. Well, how do I do that?

You have to craft repeatedly to gain experience, just like everything else.

So I hear talk of " Transmuting, or Xmuting " in game a lot. What the heck is this, and how do I do it?

Wonderful guide for new comers : http://forum.runesofmagic.com/showthread.php?t=39939

If you still don't understand something, ask in this thread and I'll help you!

What are these " Phirius Tokens " I get from doing daily quests? What are they for?

You can buy certain items from the cash shop with them. You can also buy arcane transmutor charges which you will need for transmuting gear later on. Save ALL the ones you get!

I'm now making a character on Grimdal, so I'll be able to help on there too once I've got some gold flow coming in.

I was wondering if there was any way to trade for diamonds directly. I've seen on the AH that you are able to sell items for diamonds, but I was wondering if there was any way to possibly trade gold for diamonds directly. Thanks for the help :)

Yes, you can buy diamonds with gold only. In this sense, it's possible to get any cash shop item without ever spending a single cent on the game. To buy diamonds for gold, just search " Diamonds " in the auction house, and buy some. The ratio is pretty steep however, so be prepared to farm a TON of gold in order to buy the diamonds.

For PvE classes:
Knight / Priest - Best solo-tank in the game. Will not have a trouble staying alive (unless you fight crown mobs or high level elites...). Leveling up your secondary class helps a lot as well anyways.
Knight / Warrior - Best tank at DPSing. Truth is Knight class is SLOW to level up (because it takes you longer to kill mobs, since you focus so much of your TP on tanking skills).

Mage / Priest - seems to be one of the most popular mage combinations, fact is mages kill mobs pretty easily due to high dps, but they are easy to kill as well. With a priest secondary you increase your chances to live. I believe the elites are pretty good as well, have to look at it again.

Priest / Knight - argueable, some people prefer Priest / Mage, but this class elite's are best for support in my opinion.

Rogue / Knight - if you want to make a Rogue, knight secondary is the way to go. Rogues=lack defense but good DPS/Knights=great defense but lack DPS---- So Rogue+Knight=Good DPS/Good Defense. Great class combination definetely.
For instance, as a Rogue primary, your knight skills that will passover that are useful are: +Stamina skill (increases HP and Defense per level), +Defense Buff (It increases your defense by 1% per level, I believe 55% increase is max), +Parry (Increase max parrying), +Disarm (Stacks up to 4times, can deal decent DPS as well as lowers targets defense 3% per time, max of 12%). So you can see this class is perfect.
elites include:
a damage buff, 10% maxed
increase in disarmament damage by 20%

This is pretty accurate, but two things. One, this isn't your topic, and two if you're going to post such info organize it a bit with bolds or something so people just glancing at it can read it a little easier :P
