gz,that is a fair trade: 1fg-2k gold

btw i agree with ziffy beacuse we do have to set a fair ratio because honestly i dont wanna pay 1fg for 1k gold or 1fg for 500.000 gold as i saw in some topics

perhaps you were not looking for RoM gold when they just started and that was the "fair" market price.

by definition, market price is what 1 entity pays another for a good or service. supply and demand dictate the price, and new goods/services often carry a premium until the market is broad enough.

so the discussion of "fair" prices is a moot point. if sellers want to sell, and buyers don't like the prices ... prices fall. simple as that. setting a price is a mere guideline, changing in game economies will alter this ratio on a whim. don't want to pay XFG for YGameGold? don't that's how the market works, but if there are more buyers than sellers, expect a premium to be paid.

If you know how an economy works, you'll know eventually a fair market price will be reached on its own without threads like this :)

Right now, we're in an oligopoly-type market. It's no skin off of the high levels' backs to just keep their gold, so they charge whatever they please. Eventually, the gold that is sold to the newbies will contribute to them gaining high levels and entering the market themselves. Thus, the extra competition will drive the prices down.

You can try to decide for yourself what the price can be, but you're going to be hard pressed to get the sellers to agree. As long as people are buying, they'll sell at that price. If they don't like the price, they don't sell and the buyers get screwed... it's as simple as that. If you try to modify the market, everyone is worse off because of it.

Sorry if that sounds kind of blunt, but it's simple economics. Intervention decreases from social welfare. Let the market run its course and the prices will drop, eventually - and you won't lose a ton of buyers or sellers.
