~#~ 1.1x Trap Assassin (Level 29 & 30) Guide ~#~

Preface: Since RedNight, the author of this guide, cannot post it anymore, I am posting it for him on his behalf. It was reposted, because the old guide contained a few minor errors. For any questions or concerns about this guide or the character discussed in this guide, contact RedNight, not me.

Goals

Minimal Stats to Aim For:
Faster Run/Walk: 55++ without BoS *
Faster Cast Rate: 65 Fcr
Trap Laying Speed: 10 Frames **
Resistances: 60+ All Ress, Cannot Be Frozen
Recommended Life: 700+
Recommended Mana: 300+ (with Insight)

Recommended*** Stats:
Faster Run/Walk: 55++ without BoS *
Faster Cast Rate: 65 Fcr (102 is useful)
Trap Laying Speed: 10 Frames **
Resistances: 75+ All Ress (Cold, Lightning slightly sacked), Cannot Be Frozen
Recommended Life: 900+
Recommended Mana: 450+ (with Insight), 750+ without

* 55 from Sander's Boots (40), and Peasent Crown (15).
** 10 automatically reached with Longsword + Burst of Speed, 9 reachable with claws.
*** Recommended Stats are still quite far from the full potential of the character, but allow for smooth play.


Attributes, Skills & Breakpoints

Attributes:
Strength : 55 (Longsword) or 45 (Eth Longsword/Magefists)
Dexterity: Enough for maxblock *
Energy: Nothing
Vitality: Rest
*Maxblock with Bone Shield 'Rhyme': 82 (LvL29); 85 (LvL30)
Whistan's: 63 (LvL29); 64 (LvL30)

Skills:
Wake of Fire - MAX
Burst of Speed - 1 (unless you precast)
Mind Blast - 1
Fireblast or Wake of Inferno - Rest
Shadow Warrior, Dragonflight 0-1*

*Shadow Warrior and Dragonflight depend on personal preference, Shadow Warrior is recommended though.
Dragon Flight, Shadow Warrior, and Mindblast can be on claws, saving you many skillpoints, but you will also be unable to use those skills in your second slot when using Insight. This does not matter much for Dragon Flight, which takes 4 Skill points to skill. Dragon Flight is by far the most valuable skill on claws.

Faster Cast Rate, Faster Hit Recovery and Faster Block Break Points


Equipment

Equipment
* - The best choice
* - Standard / Most Commonly used

Helm: - Peasent Crown*, Very Good Assassin Circlet*.
Peasent Crown is an excellent Helm, I would only use a Circlet if it had +1 Assassin (or +2 Traps) and 30 FRW AND 20 FCR AND another useful add (Lifereplenish, Life, Mana).

Amulet:- 1 Assa/2 Trap/Life Rep/Life/Mana/Ress (As many as possible)

Weapon: Spirit !LONGSWORD!*, 2x +5 Trap / +4 Trap Claws Hand Scythe*.
To hit 10 fpa with traps, longsword is required. Eth preferred (Dura not reduced by Kicks), for Claws, see Claw / Claw Section below.

Weapon Switch: Insight, Pre-Cast Claws (Burst of Speed)
Pre-Cast claw only if you are comfortable with your mana.

Armor: Vipermage**, Stealth, Spirit Shroud
Viper is usually the best choice.

Shield: 'Rhyme' Bone Shield**, Whistans
Without Rhyme no CNBF (unless using Death Sash, Spirit Shroud)

Gloves: Magefists**
+1 Skill, 20 Fcr, no other choice

Belt: String of Ears**, Death Sash, Rare Belt (FHR/Life(Replenish)/Resists/Mana), Faster Cast Craft
String of Ears + Rhyme is the cheapest (and almost always) best choice

Rings: Stone Of Jordan**, Manaeld
Second choice extremely low cost, +1 Skill and 25% mana is a huge boost, SOJ should always be used if possible

Boots: Sanders**, Cow Kings, Triple Resists/FRW/FHR Rares, Blood Crafts
Sanders are overall better as 10 frw will benefit the Assassin more than 5 Stats

Claw / Claw Setup
Note:
+1 Assassin / +3 WoF Claws rather than +2 Trap / +3 WoF should be considered.
Without Spirit and +2 Trap Helm/Amulet the Assassin usually only has +3 Shadow Skills (Viper and 2x SoJs). This has a noticable effect on Burst of Speed and, of course, claw block.

Required IAS for Frames Per Attack (FpA), depending on Burst of Speed Level

*The IAS of the claws is not added, the IAS should be on the main claw (left weapon) and/or other equipment excluding the other claw[I][/I]

Without Burst of Speed the Breakpoints are:
14 FPA (0); 13 FPA (6); 12 FPA (16); 11 FPA (30); 10 FPA (54); 9 FPA (89).

WoF is popular on Europe, where 29 pvp was the preferred level rather than 30. At 29 LS is quite bad with the lack of heavy +skills, as well as several other factors in 29 pvpmade them greatly superior to their LS counterparts. Though with the addition of LS Claws and differences in quite a few chars' tactics/builds at 30, LS becomes very usable.

However, at 30, WoFsin is still very usable and afaik there are quite a few at east/west as well.

on west i know wake of inferno is #1 there rapes everything. on west only tho.

I always max wake of inferno cuz it's fun to slam random pubs with it.

good guide, i agree that peasant is super for this character

and it's good that you are telling people to get 65% fcr, no more is needed

a strategy part might be necessary, because it seems that wof players always make the same mistakes @ duels (at least wof vs wof)

but then again, it's better to learn strategy and tactics by yourself

rednight is right it is a good guide, but it is missing a dueling strategy/tips area, or it would be worth a sticky.
