https://i.imgur.com/hN4GWBG.jpgI think Europeans are fascinated by the subject because it's so off-trend for a Western country that's the biggest economic power in the world to have such loose gun laws, high gun ownership and mass shootings. Many Europeans don't understand how a country like that seemingly has the gun violence you'd associate with Boko-Haram occupied territories in northeastern Nigeria. It's a stark contrast.
I get it though, and you don't see me post a lot on the subject as a result. The US was founded on guns and an individualist ideology after the rule of a tyrant monarch, that culture has been retained ever since (you can see it in the centre-right politics too) and in conjunction with the more than 300m guns in circulation over there, it's unlikely to change in the near future.
