Gaining weight vs morbid obesity are 2 entirely different things.

It should be pretty clear that the environment of what and how much people are eating is what has caused the increased rate of obesity. Obesity rates increase as sugar/refined carbohydrates production and intake increases and the sheer volume of food being eaten has increased.

Garbage in garbage out is a pretty good formula which is why I never vote for republicans.

If I was to go vegan, I would have to eat ungodly amounts of food to even stay awake.

I don't think you actually understand what vegans eat. I haven't had a salad in years. The protein density of most of the food I eat is equal to or greater than the meat you eat.

I read the .pdf. While I agree that meat production HAS an environmental impact, I don't necessarily agree that it's bad.
I think we would need a paper produced in the USA by a university that is peer reviewed, and compares the impact from meat production to that of say...transportation. So we have something to compare to besides...rabbit food.

See, we don't really need cars like we do...meat.

Personally, I have a very fast metabolism. If I was to go vegan, I would have to eat ungodly amounts of food to even stay awake.

Meat consumption has an about equal impact on the environment as mobility of every good in our countries (that includes ppl).

The rest of the food is quite a bit lower.

There isn't any conclusive evidence that saturated fat is the demon macro nutrient we've been lead to believe the last 50 years.

Nutrition science is worse than the social sciences in terms of bad research that is done.

iirc it's because the body prioritizes breaking down pretty much everything else first, so trans and saturated fats are harder to burn because you have to go through a whole litany of things before you even get to begin burning them off. Not because they're magically "bad" for you, but because they're harder to burn than other types of fats.

You'll burn them off if you don't heat your home in the winter.

I mean, one could make the argument that this rule applies (though maybe not equally) to voting for Democrats. Two party systems suck.

The more ideas the merrier, if they can come to an understanding ;)

If you take certain medications like antipsychotic medications you will gain weight no matter how much you diet no matter how much you exercise.

I'm sure other medications have this effect too I just work with antipsychotics.

... huh?

So if I don't eat at all and take antipsychotic medication, I'll simultaneously gain weight and starve to death?

I know some antidepressants cause people to gain weight, but it's not something that can't be overcome by adjusting your diet/exercise.

Research in psychology is some of the most interesting research humans have ever done IMO.

You will grow boobs too sometimes.

If you starve yourself you will die. If you take risperdal or zyprexa you will gain weight.

People will ask if they will gain wait even if they diet and exercise more. The answer is yes, but we encourage people to exercise and eat healthy. But if they take antipsychotics they will gain weight.

Antidepressants and antipsychotics are very different. One of them a primary care doctor can manage, the other needs a specialist.

They will even make men grow boobs it's called gynomacastia. I think I spelled that right. They will make women lactate too, which is fun when you're trying to break a pregnancy delusion, which is a very common one. Other common delusions are "the game" and the Capgras delusion which is where your family are imposters.
