- The International Organization for Migration (IOM) said Friday that 93,369 asylum seekers arrived in Italy via the sea as of July 19 this year.
This represents a shocking 85% of the total of 111,514 for the whole of Europe. Very few of the migrants are from Syria or Libya;
the majority arrive from Nigeria, Bangladesh, Guinea and other parts of Africa. The overwhelming majority are young men.

- Hungarian Premier Viktor Orban says Italy should "close the ports" to stop the flow of migrants from the Mediterranean and that the problem must be solved in Libya. Orban said that the four leaders of the Visegrad group, which also includes the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland, have written a letter to this effect to Italian Premier Paolo Gentiloni.

- Premier Paolo Gentiloni, who is a member of the far-left Party of European Socialists (PES), responded angrily that Italy would not take lessons from the V4 or its EU partners on migration. "We have the right to demand solidarity from our neighbours, countries with whom we share the European project," Gentiloni said in Turin. "We don't accept lessons, nor threatening words. We limit ourselves to serenely saying that we do our duty and we demand that Europe does it without giving dubious lessons". Gentiloni may becoming "unglued" over his impotency on the issue.

You (or your source) lost all credibility when you said PES is far-left.

Shipping the migrants back to africa instead of europe after they are fished out of the mediterranean is clearly the only feasible long-term solution. I absolutely dont get why Italy isnt the leader of the states pushing for this solution. Austria and the visegrad states propose this solution, while Italy on the one hand laments about the burden all those ""refugees"" are for them, on the other hand they are actively positioning themselves against actions that would reduce the influx of migrants into their country. Their stance on this issue is almost as crazy and contradictory as Germany's.

remember:

EU should cut off poland (op's country) funds by 70-90% and use it to securize borders

Except for, nah. Can twist it how you like but those immigrants are a factor in our economical situation now and with it, cheap labour forces. And to comment on your rather narrow-minded view as to the solution, perhaps it would be even more feasible to do something about why they're fleeing from their continent in the first place.

Of we do have to fight the causes for the migration. but this is a something that will take years to decades and is no short term solution. in general, it is something that might very well not work despite our best efforts. just look at the projected population growth in africa during the next 35 years.

short-term, there is absolutely no way around shutting our borders down for poverty immigration.

that the africans provide italy with cheap labor is true, but I think you already have enough of them, and they are also creating costs and put pressure on the wages of domestic workers. getting more africans on top of the ones italy already has would be a curse and not a blessing.

since this very simple, common sense solution (which has been very effective for australia) is simply refused there is only the conclusion that this is done on purpose
criminal ngo's, human traffickers and the drowning of people could be stopped immediately

look at it this way
there is some serious trouble brewing in italy already, mayors talking about their cities not being italian anymore, mafia declaring war on migrant gangs, merchants fighting with illegal migrants in broad daylight

its only a matter of time until reality catches up with italy and their politicians are forced to take action, even without the blessing of the globalists in brussels

I think the "masterplan" is... or was, that italy holds still until after the german federal election, and that merkel then allows a significant portion of italy's ""refugees"" to come to germany.

dunno if that is still feasible though, with the mediterranean refugee crisis escalating each day and with german public opinion on refugees having soured substantially since 2015.

Meanwhile in Northern Africa:

"OMG, we do not want these immigrants! How about we ship them all to Italy? It's nearby and overseas at the same time."

Infinite loop ensues, and earth implodes. Thank you Angela Merkel.

getting on a boat to europe costs a lot by the standards of those african would-be migrants. if the attempt has too low a chance of resulting in success (= entry to the european social security system), they will stop trying. this is exactly what happened with boat migration in australia: since it became clear that the australians mean business with their "NO WAY" campaign, almost no one tries anymore.
