Team Needs:
Two Defensive Tackles: The Lions had one of the league's worst pass defenses, but the primary reason for this was a lack of pressure they put on opposing quarterbacks. There's a big void in the interior of the defensive line, where Detroit never replaced Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley. This is a position the Lions almost have to spend an early pick on in the 2017 NFL Draft. Signed Akeem Spence and Jordan Hill

Three Linebackers: Detroit's linebacking corps was pretty poor outside of DeAndre Levy this season, and things will only get worse with Josh Bynes hitting free agency. The front office will need to find two new players to join Levy. Update: Levy was released. Signed Nick Bellore and Paul Worrilow

Right Tackle: Riley Reiff is an impending free agent, so the Lions will have to find a new bookend blocker across from Taylor Decker if he leaves for the open market. Signed Ricky Wagner

Cornerback Depth: The Lions have two terrific cornerbacks in Darius Slay and Nevin Lawson, but there's very little behind the two. Signed D.J. Hayden

Defensive End Depth: More depth problems for the Lions. They need to find a pass-rusher to play behind Ziggy Ansah and Kerry Hyder. Signed Cornelius Washington

Running Back: Ameer Abdullah has been bothered by injuries in both of his NFL seasons thus far. The Lions can't rely on him. Zach Zenner has been a solid backup, but he shouldn't be an every-down back either, and neither should Theo Riddick.

Tight End: Detroit needs to be thinking of moving on from Eric Ebron, who dropped countless passes - including some in the playoffs - this past season. Ebron has been a colossal bust.

Backup Quarterback: Dan Orlovsky is heading into free agency, but the Lions needed a new reserve signal-caller anyway.

Jarrad Davis is too good and fills too big of a need to be passed on here imo.

I think you might be higher on Davis than most people. ESPN has him in the mid-20s and CBS in the mid-30s on their respective big boards. Granted, I think he's worth a pick in the 20s, and I think he's the best ILB prospect in this draft, but that's really more of an indictment of Foster than anything.

Anyway, voted Davis.

He was great in college, but I don't think he will pan out in the pros. He takes risks instead of playing his assignment, and it works when you are the most athletic on the field, but he won't be in the NFL. I have watched him as much as anyone I'm sure being a Michigan fan and watching every game.
