Team Needs:
Defensive End: Baltimore's No. 1 need is bolstering the pass rush, which was non-existent down the stretch. Having players who can rattle opposing passers would've prevented Ben Roethlisberger from overcoming a double-digit deficit on Christmas afternoon. The Ravens need a new defensive end to go along with Timmy Jernigan.

Rush Linebacker: Terrell Suggs and Elvis Dumervil were once great rush linebackers, but they both declined in 2016 - and understandably so, given that they're both well into their 30s. Some young blood is needed at outside linebacker, and given all of the pass-rushing talent in the 2017 NFL Draft, Baltimore should be able to solve this issue in the early rounds.

Center: The Ravens traded away Jeremy Zuttah, so a big need has opened up at center.

Wide Receiver: Steve Smith has retired, while Mike Wallace was a predictable bust signing. The Ravens still have Breshad Perriman, who should improve, but they lack a No. 1 receiver at the moment.

Cornerback: Jimmy Smith is a decent No. 1 corner, while Tavon Young was excellent in the slot last year despite being a rookie. However, the Ravens need a third cornerback to go along with those two. Signed Brandon Carr

Guard: The Ravens really missed Kelechi Osemele this season, as his absence bogged down the offense. It'll be difficult to replace the All-Pro guard, but Ozzie Newsome will have to figure something out.

Two Offensive Tackles: Make it one if the Ravens re-sign Ricky Wagner. Ronnie Stanley and Wagner were solid last year, but there was no depth behind them. Baltimore can do better than James Hurst.

Nose Tackle: Ozzie Newsome called Brandon Williams one of the top nose tackles in the NFL. The problem is that Williams has an expiring contract in March. Re-signed Brandon Williams

Inside Linebacker: Zach Orr has announced his retirement, so a replacement next to C.J. Mosley is needed.

Running Back: Kenneth Dixon was much better than Terrance West, though that easily could've just been by default. The Ravens should look into adding another running back to share the workload with Dixon. Signed Danny Woodhead

Fullback: Kyle Juszczyk is one of the NFL's top fullbacks, but he also happens to be an impending free agent.

Backup Quarterback: It seemed like the Ravens were grooming Ryan Mallett to be their No. 2 quarterback, but he's now a free agent, so we'll see if that continues. Re-signed Ryan Mallett

In response to Walt's needs chart,

5-tech is a big need. Lawrence Guy was our best 5-tech the past few seasons, but after he left it's currently Brent Urban and Kaufusi (two underwhelming injury-prone players). Charlton would upgrade that position instantly, but I do question his work ethic (thankfully the Harbaugh connection will provide all we need to know about him)

Edge LB is a big need. We already replaced Dumervil with Judon, contrary to what Walt suggests. We could still use up to two rush-LBs though (one as a future Suggs replacement; one for depth because Za'Darius Smith is worthless)

Center actually isn't a dire need--Jensen played about as well as Zuttah last year--but it could certainly be upgraded. I'm hoping they sign Mangold and draft someone to develop, since none of these center prospects are ideal day-1 starters. Lamp might be a decent pick since it potentially fills two needs, but I don't like the value here.

WR is a big need. First off, I'm not sure why Walt is calling a player who generated 72 rec, 1,017 yds, and 4 TDs a bust signing (especially when he was signed for reasonably cheap), but I digress... Wallace is a UFA in 2018, Perriman is closer to bust than starter, and behind those two there is no other WR worth mentioning. So, yes, WR is a huge need. We could honestly sign 3 WRs and it wouldn't even be overkill. I actually think Williams and Ross are late first-round picks, but if they reached for one here I wouldn't be upset. I would much rather have Williams over Ross, since Williams at least fits Flacco's tendencies to pitch jump-balls, whereas Ross will be hurt by Flacco's inability to accurately connect with quicker WRs. Plus Ross has serious size and durability concerns, and we have enough of that with Perriman.

We need a LG more than we need a RT. Alex Lewis, who was the de facto best LG on the team last year, should transition to RT for 2017, which is his ideal position. Draft pundits see that Wagner left in FA and are like "omg, they need a RT!," but Alex Lewis was drafted to replace him at RT all along. So, tldr, LG is the position we should really address, which should be done later in the draft imo due to need not meeting BPA here, though Lamp could be a decent pick since we need a LG and a C. I agree that we need a depth OT, however.

ILB is a moderate need, but need doesn't meet BPA in the first. Plus there's still a shred of hope Correa isn't a bust and contributes as an ILB, or even the exciting UDFA Patrick Onwuasor, who is fast and loves to hit people.

RB is a moderate need, but not one I would like to spend a first round pick on. I actually like Dixon to develop into a #1 RB if he can stay healthy and avoid PED suspensions lol.

We don't need a fullback. TE Nick Boyle will be transitioning to FB most likely.

Also, Walt forgot to mention TE as a need. We still have Pitta, but he's very average these days. Benjamin Watson should be cut (torn Achilles and old as fuck), Maxx Williams can't separate, Darren Waller is basically only good for special teams, and Nick Boyle is moving to FB. So we could definitely use a true #1 TE as opposed to rostering 5 mediocre ones. I would love if OJ Howard fell to 16 (and so would Ozzie, given the Bama connection lol).

You're all welcome for the long post, no need to thank me.

FYI, I voted Charlton. Fits a huge need and is the BPA.

Haason Reddick is too similar to Correa. Too lightweight to set the edge and get off blockers, he'd have to play off the line most downs, only coming in as an occasional DPR. He's the player I want least of all from this list.
