Lol it's an extreme example.

I don't follow what you are saying. How is overbooking by 5 an "extreme example". Seems pretty typical.

Seems like it could be exploited.

Example: Gather a group 25 fathers, each with a set of infant twins. Simultaneously book 75 tickets on a 70-seat flight. When the offer money to leave, everyone refuses until the price gets up to a $100million, then split the profit 25 ways ($4mil each).

Then one person buckles at 5k and screws everybody else over

The guy had every right to protest being removed. He should take it to court and since the airline had no justification to get the police involved, he will get a settlement.

He did nothing wrong. Resisting the demands of police when he felt he was being wrong is 100% okay.

We are not talking about violence or a law being broke.

The airline fucked up and will pay for it.

You're 100% correct, legally.

Yeah man 25 dads all with 2 infants all aligning to the same flight on the same day is very typical. I am wrong and you are right.

The whole point of my idea is that 25 fathers are getting together and colluding to make profit off the airline....

I'm sure a smart lawyer could construct some clever contract for them each to sign with a poison pill in it to make sure it was in everyone's best individual interest to see it through.

I mean, Kthulu could also just come and destroy the plane. That's got about the same chances of success.

Definitely not reasonable force. A jury would most likely side with the passenger if this went to trial. I'd say sue the living shit out them

I would have accepted the voucher and got off the plane long before law enforcement got involved or offered to get off in his place. you're only seeing what the outraged self-righteous virtue-signaling female with the iphone wanted you to see. The airline has to stay on schedule and the passenger refused to voluntarily get off and no one else offered to get off in his place. He only has himself to blame for acting like a child.

also this:
http://www.state.ky.us/agencies/kbml/finalorders/22439.pdf

David Dao was indicted in 2003 by a grand jury for criminal acts of trafficking in a controlled substance, obtaining drugs by fraud and deceit, and unauthorized prescribing, dispensing, or administering of controlled substences.

During the investigation of all of this, it was discovered that he had become s-xually interested in a patient who was referred to him. During the initial evaluation, he performed a complete physical examination, including a genital examination, for the patient who had been referred for collapsed lungs and chest pain.

He then made the patient his office manager. Then he quit his job, and they ended up in some weird situation where prescriptions were exchanged for sexual acts.

In 2005 he lost his medical license.

In 2007 he completed a clinical skills assessment, which demonstrated that his knowledge was "outdated and also contained gaps that would not likely be fully explained by his time away from the practice."

He showed that he "lacked competence with acid-based disorders, ventilator management, ventilator-associated pneumonia, and current evaluation and treatment of shock," which is hysterically ironic considering his current predicament.

How does his past medical history / education have any relevancy to the "law enforcement" actions that day?

I understand he was requested to get off the plane and he was being a big baby. So UA called LE to come take him out, they do that all the time.

But slamming a passengers head / breaking their glasses, cutting their lip, dragging them on across the airplane's floor is not a reasonable force for someone just being a big baby sitting in their seat. If he was jumping around acting like a wild billy goat hitting passengers and flailing his arms, then that's a different story
