The new combat update on H1 hit the test servers this past friday. I just got on it for the first time and have only played a few games so far, but it's already so much better than that shit show on the live servers.

Still plenty of things that can be improved, nerf'd, changed, etc, but this is very good signs of progress in the right direction. I wont be touching the live servers again until this combat patch goes live on them

There's no set date yet, but you can figure it'll be at least another 2 weeks easy, before it hits the live servers. There's still plenty of feed back to be collected and they're leaving the test servers up 24/7 until the patch hits the live server. Only solos are up on the test server atm, but they'll be opening up duos and fives by the end of this week they said.

Like I said, I've only played a handful of games so far, but it's pretty fun man. I'll be playing the shit out of these test servers so I can get used to the update for when it hits live.

Not gonna lie they have taken a huge step forward.

There's definitely more things that must be done before this update goes live, but they've already said they plan on having multiple updates on the test before it hits the live servers. Which is a very good thing.

There's new camera angles that are definitely going to take some time to get used to, but you can use the classic camera angle if you want. They downed the Frames some by adding more stupid ass trees and grass. Not a fan of that shit. It only makes it harder to see people, as well as dropping frames. Hopefully they'll tune that back some, but I doubt it.

The more I've played the new combat update on the test server on H1. The more I realize how bad it is. It needs a lot of work. They completely ruined some stuff and the new SMG is stupid. They should just trash that weapon entirely.

They changed way too much stuff that nobody wanted and there's literally RNG on bullet accuracy now. They added some stupid Bloom thing that makes your shots RNG.

They're trying to limit weapons to only be used in certain situations/ranges. aka the AR-15 as long range weapon only. 100 meters+. AK-47 for like 60m. etc etc. That'd be fine if the game wasn't RNG as shit, but if you only get an AR off the drop and the guy next to you gets a shotgun or SMG you're fucked. Before you could just hip fire at close range if you had a AR vs a shotty, but they nerf'd hip fire so bad it's basically useless. It's good that they nerf'd it because it was ridiculous before, but if you don't get a shotty or SMG right off the start, you're going to get rushed by somebody who does and instantly get melted by the SMG. It's so OP. So you're stuck trying to ADS somebody at close range with a weapon that's only meant to be used at 100m+.

The skill gap is even smaller now, which is sad that it could have gotten smaller. The whole point of the new combat was to get away from body spraying. Instead they made it even more body spraying heavy. They sped up the bullet speed so there's literally like zero bullet drop anymore. The live server's bullet speed for the AR-15 is like 350ms. When they released the new combat update they up'd it too 1000ms. They dropped it down to 850ms I think, but it's still so ridiculously fast and make it so the bullet drop is almost none until like 200m+ and even then it's little to none.

They need to combine the current live server with the current test server for the perfect middle ground.

Draw distance has the same issue as PC. Probably locked to 30 FPS. But they seemingly made it work well on controller.
