So should I start giving stories and stuff? lol. I used to like I did on my first WT:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=74146599&f=161and then on post 8, I asked if the comment with stories helped to make it more enjoyable. But never got a response, so I stopped.
After reading this, I want to make videos of my WT's I do just so I can prove that I don't cheat. But this comp is shitty and I don't know if there is a program that'll do it without making my computer lag. Then I'd have to upload it and all.. I'd do it if I got accused. But I don't think anyone would actually watch it, so it'd just be a huge waste of time.
Unless it's something you enjoy doing, I wouldn't force yourself to write narratives.
It's just my personal preference. Some people just like to see items! Walkthroughs with a lot of screenshots of items are popular as well. Timing and frequency of screenshots are probably important. Multiple screenshots can tell a story of what happened without you having to write anything. Then some like to see progress of wacky or difficult builds.
Example of narrative:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=74272132&f=161Example of witty:
http://forums.d2jsp.org/topic.php?t=75983985&f=161Plenty of other successful walkthroughs with almost only screenshots, but they make sense and offer a clear picture of progress and a lot of pictures of items.
Was reading a walkthrough recently with someone using gifs. I thought it was a great. It's a lot of work though, so props to him! I never click video links, I just like to keep on scrolling which is why I thought gifs were great. That's just me though.
I'd just do what you are comfortable doing while enjoying the game. If it starts becoming "work" to make bunch of videos and stories every time you update then it's hardly worth it. Just being persistent and not giving up midway through a walkthrough is enough to keep people reading.
