...because we didn't grant the power to police restrooms to the federal government in the Constitution?
Why do you believe anybody has to be legally blocked from public restrooms? State or Federal governments? Different pockets on the same pair of authoritarian pants.

I think the more "controversial" an issue is the closer to home it should be decided and firmly believe in the experiment of state's prerogative over federal ones whenever there is a conflict between the two positions, agree with this or not, at least it's consistent unlike the current and last couple POTUS admins we've had. I showed the other day the folly mathematically how ludicrous it is to be be concerned and worried about trans people in the bathroom, perhaps you missed that thread. I do support trans people being able to use public bathrooms and private venues having the choice to decide for themselves. Creating a law that does not allow trans people into the public bathroom in my view is an assumption of guilt and wrong doing without evidence thereof, as it subscribes motive and makes a victim by enforcement of said law.
Plus it is a generally shitty and backward thing to do. But I agree with your opinion.
Historically speaking though, we had this fight already, with the blacks at the lunch counters.
