Yes these all play a role however the role diet plays is much larger than that of lifestyle or genetics for the majority of these patients

Which patients tho

No, you're legitimately stupid. I just posted scientific studies saying so

The decreased glucose utilization in your brain has clearly made you retarded.

Any patients that were a part of the one of six major retrospective trials that looked at exercise vs weight/comorbid disease opposed to diet vs. weight/comorbid disease and then combined vs. weight/comorbid disease. Minimal differences in combined vs. diet alone, and exercise alone produced a much larger difference in outcomes by 5ish fold iirc. Should be free on pubmed, if you hit a pay wall u can pm me what article u want to see

Keto diet is dangerous and people that seek to do it in the long run are probably mentally challenged.

https://www.consumerreports.org/diet-nutrition/truth-about-a-high-protein-low-carb-diet/
"
That may sound like a way to shed pounds, but it can have serious health consequences. “You’re altering your metabolism away from what’s normal and into a starved state,” Seres says. “People in starved states experience problems with brain function.

A high-protein diet also overworks the kidneys. That’s especially worrisome for people with kidney disease and can predispose those with healthy kidneys to kidney stones. Over an extended period of time, excessive protein intake leaches calcium from your bones, which can lead to osteoporosis.
"

Exactly like i said; it just stress the body and reduce life expectancy.

any diet will have its pros/cons, however there are no RT scientific articles out there on outcomes of keto diet for the average Joe. the only actual articles present are certain diets with certain disease states, keto diet effect one neoplastic processes for example which there are several studies on.

you simply cannot make the above claim with the data that currently exists just because wikipedia/consumerreports tells you so, at least in respect to keto diet (as opposed to the diet you linked above).

this thread is not about a high protein diet as, you have linked multiple times, please at least find a non relevant article that actually visits the topic in question.

I am not in favor of giving away free information, especially considering these articles can be found within 60 seconds of searching on any credible engine

if you come across an article with a pay wall then ill help you get past it. for the record this data has been out since 2011 and if you are still advocating exercise as the primary non-pharmacologic agent in your DM patients then you are painfully outdated

don't know if there is a language barrier but you keep referencing high protein diets in a keto diet thread. can you link a quote from me stating a high protein diet has any benefits?

for the record, I am not advocating for the keto diet to be used in an individual without comorbid disease, as the data is lacking, which I've stated at least 2-3x in this thread so far. (inb4 frenchy c/ps something about high protein shakes from times magazine). literally the only data that exists on it thus far is its use in leukemia patients highlighting antineoplastic effects. anything else is anecdotal at this time, so for one to claim to know the longterm effects of this diet displays arrogance to the point of incompetence, or just naivety.

Glipizide and Metformin
or Insulin inj. sc preferred if the patient/insurance can afford it.
Not advocating exercise as the primary thing, just recommend it in the lifestyle modification portion.

First you link times articles to wrong the wrong thread now you are posting animal studies. You just went to pubmed and typed in fat bad and copy/pasta'd first thing you could find. Tell me what you have read there which makes it applicable to humans

I don't have cancer and I like bread, so no reason for me to go keto.

Ya I'm not talking about meds obv. Insulin for DM2 isn't recommended until you have maxed on 3 meds by the way or an A1c > 3% above goal
