Our generation got to watch music videos, The Real World and wet t-shirt contests... the new generation is watching Catfish and white guilt videos. Fucking pathetic.

ya the programming today is bad but a lot of the old programming was just as bad with a different political spin. Pro pot, pro cop hating, pro establishment hating, anti mainstream education, etc. those are all sentiments i remember being around in 90s MTV. tack on to that the absolute glorification of party binge drinking and drug use.

catfish is fucking weird but i actually have no problem with that show, they're doing a public service.

The SJW shows are a bit icky but i only see it as a slight downward trajectory from where they've always been. It is the network that spawned Jackass and Beavis and Butthead afterall.

well not like called SJW's Rule the World or anything. but the programming has taken a serious turn in that direction. over inclusion of trans people (well over their occurrence in actual reality) would be a good example. but overall i was speaking to tone. but if you didn't see the latest white privilege PSA go watch it, you'll get a serious stiffy.
