Good luck ^
And protip, if you care about your total (which you shouldn’t really since it’s first comp) then going 9/9 will be higher than missing your final squat and deadlift because you ‘praying’ for a certain number and going 7/9
Most people’s gym lifts are bigger than their comp lifts, comp lifts are hard. Trying to get significantly more in comp than you can in the gym usually does not work out
Going 9/9 with a little left in the tank is the best result you can aim for. Gives you a base you can build upon and you start generating momentum, next comp will be bigger and better and you maintain constant progress. You have a good time and you get hungry for more. The alternative is you miss lifts, you don’t enjoy it, it’s hard, ego is hurt, quit
for sure, my plan was to pull 95% on my first pull, 100% on my second and a PR for my third attempt.
Squats I'm always confident in, that's probably because I've never actually failed a lift... I've never really tried for an actual PR though, I have plenty of 3/5/10 rm PRs.. But never a heavy single.
Bench, I plan on going 3/3 for, mostly because the difference of a PR and my actual lifts aren't great enough to risk red lighting it.
I'll keep you all updated on how I do ofc.
