Lol @ metabolism broscience. Eating only healthy foods isn't going to raise your metabolism.

i would like to point out another huge problem: fat. The fat in our food. Like, the one in most weenies, salamy, sausages, wurst, pate, and any processed meat. Pure meat doesn't have it, processed meat has tons of it.

and there is also vegetable fats, including margerine. and butter. and many curious oils are spilled in our food.

and if you add/eat sugar too, it's like a huge bomb for your body, with a geometrical effect

I went though a depression for a few months, did some emotional over eating, packed on some pounds. Things started to get better, I started to eat less again, and I've lost 25 lbs to get back to my lacklusterly fit self.

how do you know you lost good fat, and not shrunk your muscles ? you might be in trouble, see a nutritionist

It's not only what you eat. It is also how much of it, when you eat it, how you eat it (eating fast without chewing properly even makes a difference as an example).

Metabolism certainly plays a roll on how your body deal with that it is given. But it is not the only factor for sure. Metabolism change over time and with your eating habits, is also very important thing to remember.

This is pretty sound advice, eat food that has as little processing as possible done to it. The less times that man has had the chance to screw around with it the better off you are. Take applesauce for instance we love it on our cottage cheese that we make from the whey milk. The applesauce from a jar is loaded with sugar and corn syrup, and all sorts of crap. But you can quickly cook down a few apples at home and smash them up, add some cinnamon and natural applesauce no added sugars. 5-10 minutes.

Don't forget it hasn't been that long since McDonalds was caught putting pink slime into their beef.

Because I'm stronger than I have been in awhile, I stay pretty active, and people call me when they want help moving something because I have the physical strength to match my mental prowess B)
