hmmm just looking at that, necros look pretty shitty, especially for 1v1.... they don't really seem to deal much damage... anything you could add to this?

They look more like a support class?

The only 1v1 that even matters in this game is bunker vs decap
Which is basically 2 people fighting over a capture point. Not about killing.

Their damage is a bit less than other classes, yes.
Pure damage is not really effective in most cases though.

They are ridiculously tanky if you play one correctly though.
Over double the health pool of any other class with many forms of healing.

I use a build that is all about death shroud.
I gain as much life force as possible and then switch to death shroud again, where I gain a free +50% crit chance.

Basically I spend all my fights using a secondary health pool so I never die.
And still hit really hard.

hmm ok ty, is the build you use, common among the community of gw2? or is it a personal build?

There is a higher damage version that is squishy which is commonly used.

Honestly when it comes to structured PvP you can just make any character you want at lvl 1 and have it instantly be lvl 80 and ready to go.

So when you make a character I would aim it more towards WvWvW and PvE.
Because sPvP you can do any time on any class.

I think Necro is best placed in WvW

I have a lvl 80 of every class. Necro might not be the most fun to start with.
Look at ALL the classes.

World vs World vs World -WvWvW
World vs World - WvW

Same thing. Servers fight against each other.

As for everything else, I recommend watching just a YouTube video of necro gameplay. GW2 is different than WoW; I have a hard time explaining GW2 combat to a WoW player because they are different.
e/ You don't have to watch a ton of videos, you'll understand what I mean soon.
