I say let the kid read the Bible any time he wants during classes. Then when he tries to get the teacher fired because he's failing, he has even less of a case.

Religion should be banned from schools anyway. As a nation that supports freedom of religion we will have a plethora of them in our nation. Religion is a sensitive subject that has a tendency to lead to arguing instead of debate or learning. Due to these two simple facts i feel religion has no place in a school as it will more often than not end up just distracting from learning. You can learn about your religion from your parents, the internet, huge amounts of religious texts and there are places like churches already dedicated 100% to it. Seriously zero need for it to be in school at all.

If the child was reading it aloud I wouldnt want my kid around that lunacy. Children are very impressionable, I dont need no crazies spewing nonsense at my kid.

But regardless, in the end of the article it mentions that her defense is that it wasnt during free reading time. Just a couple loud mouthed bible thumpers trying to push some pointless agenda.
