smiters don't necessarily slam good zons. a good smiter shoul be able to kill a zon most of the time but most smiters just aren't that good (note: i'm not talking about javazons, they obviously lose vs smiters but that's not because of getting dodgelocked, it's because you need to be close to deal damage and smiter is just better at close range)
you don't really get locked by dodges anyway, you might dodge a few times (or get hit) but you can get away after that by wsging. if you try to tele on a javazon then sure you can get dodge/block/fhr/slow tele locked but that's not really the same
Well in a match with two equally skilled players, one Amazon (doesn't matter which) and one Smiter, the Smiter will win 98-99% of the duels.
If the Smiter doesn't use shitloads of res items and/or haven't skilled in light res aura and the Javazon doesn't get dodge-locked the Javazon will win (due to mass dmg) but in 90%+ of the time that is not the case.
Dodge, Avoid and Evade skills are indeed useful but in a melee match they'll fuck you up unless you're lucky. That is the reason because most of the Java vs Java leagues on East/West have non-d/a/e Javas (just for an example).
You do get "locked" because the stuff that you're doing (wsg/attacking/teleing) doesn't work but if you do run/walk you will have gained quite a distance when you're "unlocked".
